• Code and architecture : behind your website is a whole infrastructure, like the structure of a house. The house might look great, nice painting, great deco... but then you find out that it's actually built on unstable ground, with a material or an architecture that cannot take any modification. In time, the house will collapse, and you won't be able to make any improvements to it.
  The very same applies to your website. A non professional solution might look great, but when you'll want to add, change or remove something, it might prove difficult if it has not been built with durability in mind.
• Design and ergonomic : coming back to our house, let's make it a public building. The architect had brilliant new ideas on how to organise the different rooms, where to put the toilets, etc... Then the visitors come in and... they get lost, find the whole thing too complex, in a word, they don't like it, and the building is lost for all.
  Maybe you've come across websites where just the look of the first page puts you off, and then you try to find your way in there, and get nowhere?

• Content management : let's make our public building a library. One library has got very interesting books. They're updated on a regular basis, and organised in a way that anybody can find whatever they're looking for. The sister library though might have interesting books in it, but they're hidden in a mass of uninteresting ones. New ones only come in once every blue moon. Did you ever choose one supplier over another one, simply because you could get the information you needed from them, even if they might be a bit more expensive?
